I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

9 years ago while in graduate school at Tulane, a close friend and medical student convinced me to shave my head for St. Baldrick's. It ended up being a truly memorable experience which was topped off with getting accepted to medical school a few days later. I was on my way to becoming a pediatrician and got to start it all off with shaving my head for childhood cancer.

It's been quite the journey since then - medical school, pediatric residency, and pediatric fellowship training. I've played a small part in caring for those kids with cancer. I've seen kids and families on their best days and their worst days. So this time, when I got an email about participating in St. Baldrick's, it hit a little bit closer to home for me.

I'm shaving my head for all the kids I've met in my journey since my last shave. I hope you'll join me and help me reach my goal.
