I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

For the 14th year in a row my son, Myles, and I will shave our heads in support of the fight against childhood cancer. It is an honor and a privilege to give my hair in support of so many who do not have that choice.

Cancer affects everybody, either threatening them personally, or a family member or close friend. Every year more than 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Because of the work of St. Baldricks and other organizations, so many more of those children will become cancer survivors. But the work does not stop there. They will continue with treatment to deal with the effects of cancer or the effects of the treatments they endured. St. Baldrics not only applies its research to addressing the cures for childhood cancer, but also the long term effects of the fight to defeat it.

Again this year I honor Juliette O, a beautiful 6-year old former neighbor who continues to thrive after her fight with neuroblastoma. Thank you to St. Baldricks and all of the many organizations who have worked so hard to give Juliette and millions of other children, and their families, so much hope and so much success! And thank you to all of you who have supported Myles and myself in our annual tradition of Braving the Shave!
