I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: JRMS

My colleagues and I work to help kids learn and grow each day at John Read Middle School.

This year - like it's been done every year since I was a JRMS student - a team of JRMS kids, adults, and I will shave our heads on St. Baldrick's Day while collecting money for childhood cancer research.

Although shaving my head will seem drastic (especially if you know my head of hair), I'm finding comfort in knowing that for many: it's not a choice - and the money we raise might allow future kids a better chance at learning and growing up in schools just like ours.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
