I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? At 17, my sister was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. I was 13 and didn't quite understand what was going on. I've always regretted not being more supportive during her difficult fight. Fortunately, she beat it and is cancer free but many still suffer from this horrible disease.

Two years ago in March of 2020, I was days away from shaving my head for the 11th year in a row when the Covid-19 pandemic took hold and forced people into quarantining, social distancing, mask wearing, etc and turned the world upside down. I vowed to myself that I would not cut my hair until I was able to shave it at a St. Baldrick’s event. I never expected it to be 2 years later but here I am with a long, curly ponytail!

My last haircut was November or December 2019 so hopefully it's long enough to donate to Wigs for Kids or Locks of Love.
