I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Cancer affects everyone. We can probably all count at least a dozen people in our lives who have heard that terrifying "C-word" in a doctor's office. A cancer diagnosis is devastating no matter the patient's age, type, or stage. Most devastating of all, it seems, is when a child has to face such a scary pronouncement. THANKFULLY medicine has come so far in research and treatment options that many are afforded true hope and the promise of sound treatment. Let's pull together to broaden the scope and breadth of childhood cancer research to help it stretch ever-broader, ever-wider.

For me, I heard that scary "C-word" all alone in a doctor's office one warm day in May of 2010. It is a moment forever marked in my mind and heart. Fortunately, I was able to get precise and comprehensive treatments that have left me cancer-free and well. Everyone deserves that chance.

Thank you for your willingness to contribute to this very worthy cause.
