Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.
While a day I don’t “celebrate” and one I surely wish had never happened March 2, 2012 my best friends received the news no one ever wants to hear. Their 15 month old son was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. For the last 10 years I have watched their bravery and resilience. But more importantly I have gotten to watch my “nephew” fight, beat, fight again, best again, fight AGAIN and beat again Neuroblastoma. He has been NED for 6 years now. He got there in part with the help of treatments that were from research funded by St Baldrick’s. I shaved for the 3 years after he was diagnosed and today to honor him I shave again.
Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you so much!
