I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Teddy

Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.

Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down.

That's the view from 30,000 feet. But, it is also intensely personal.

In February 2019, when she was just 18 months old, our next-door neighbor, Lia went to the pediatrician for a "cold" and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Her treatment, which consisted of chemotherapy, steroids, spinal taps, weekly clinic visits, and more, lasted until July 2021. She was quite the little fighter through it all.

Lia is now 4.5 years old and started pre-school in September of 2021. She loves to climb, draw, and use her imagination. What a shining example of what research into pediatric cancer can mean for thousands of children like her!

Would you please help other children suffering from cancer with your donation so they too may have such a terrific outcome as Lia?

Thank you so much!
