I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Ten years ago I had a bet within myself, could I shave my head for this charity and could I actually raise money doing it. The answer has been YES. For eight of these ten years I have been a Shavee and have had my head shaved in solidarity of the children who are fighting the biggest fight of their lives. Last year I decided to not shave my head but to not have a real haircut for 14 months. This challenge has actually been harder than shaving my head if you can believe. I actually raised as much if not more money growing my hair! This is my tenth year as a participant with St Baldricks and what started as a bet within myself has become a mission. My life has been changed by the honored children of our own local event who are now Angels. I wasn't prepared for how this has made me feel. It has made me more vigilant in my quest for raising money for a cure. With our world feeling so polarized at times, St Baldricks and my community have made me feel we are in this together and I find support from children, other adults, friend, co workers, strangers and businesses. Help me continue my personal mission. Consider a donation or become an active participant in our local event. Raise money and find a cure! LET'S DO THIS!!! PEACE
