As a bereaved mother of childhood cancer, it would be so easy to go bury my head in the sand…to pull the cover over my head…to never want to hear the words childhood cancer uttered again. But, it would be a grave injustice to our children’s memory to not continue the fight. They were so brave throughout their battle, how could we not be as brave? The subject of childhood cancer seems to be taboo. No one wants to think about it. No one wants to get too close to it. We as a society have to do more for the children. Cancer doesn’t care about race, ethnicity, gender or age but the difference here is that children can’t fight for themselves. We have to fight for them. And we ALL have to fight because it can affect anyone at any time. It is too late for my child, but it’s not too late for yours. As a parent who has lost her child to this disease, I appreciate events like this. I appreciate anything and everything that is done to continue the fight…no matter how small. Thank you again for being here and for continuing the fight.
I'm volunteering and raising money with St. Baldrick's to help kids with cancer! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I've decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive.
For Chelsey! For the children!!!
