I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Neetu's Team

This past one and half year has been very unprecedented and the isolation has taught us the worth of human life like never before. All of us have felt the helplessness and loss. We share collective trauma. These times have taught us to value every presence, to cherish every smile, and embrace every hug.

It is with pleasure that I am announcing that I will be donating my hair to Children with Hairloss. It is a charity that donates hair to children with all kinds of hairloss including, but not limited to: cancer. In the process, until the date of my donation, I will be fundraising for St. Baldrick's, which donates money for cancer research in children.

I am indeed fortunate that I have not experienced loss to cancer. But I know people that have lost a loved one. How it seethes in a family and how it starts from feeding on hope. I think it fair that children should not suffer the brunt of our mistakes. And anything to prevent the cruel fate will go a long way.

Those who know me can attest that my hair is my pride and joy and my crown that has had many lives. It gives me great joy to have the privelege to be in a position where I can take time to do this.

When I made the decision, the overwhelming support of my parents has been encouraging and welcomed. And all your thoughts and prayers count.

In the memory of my grandfather, a most selfless man, Dr. Taij Pal Dutt who we lost to cardiac arrest in April, 2021.
