I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive.

I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. My "head shaving" journey began in 2005! 2021 marks Lucky #13 for me to shave my head bald for this incredible cause.

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive.

You might be thinking, "Why don't you just donate? Why do you need to shave each year?" My answer is that shaving allows me bring awareness to children's cancers, which differ from adult cancers and to also raise funds toward research to find a cure! Some side effects of shaving include: humility, checking my vanity, and paying it forward. I am grateful for each day I wake up to spread more love and light in the world, and I want my legacy to be one of inspiration, motivation, kindness, and compassion for others.

I aspire to motivate individuals, like yourself, to get involved and enrich the lives of others through sharing your special gifts.

Children, such as Emily Ringham, will forever be my heroes! Emily shared her story of being diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 10 and how it changed her life. Her childhood was stolen from her, but she does not exude anything but positive energy. She is an incredible and inspiring young woman! Listen to her story, from her perspective: https://vimeo.com/89211247.

I shave in solidarity with children fighting for their life! With COVID-19, donations are way down for non-profit organizations so I am doing my part to help raise money to find a cure for childrens' cancers.

Please help me reach my goal of $2000 this year. My virtual shave is on Sunday, March 28, 2021!

Please join me to help bring attention and raise money for this worthy cause.

With gratitude,

Shannon
