I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald Boys

This is my 4th year participating in St. Baldrick's and have raised over $2,500 and am so happy that I am able to help these kids. Some people ask me why I shave my head instead of only donating. I then say that I shave my head so people can ask that exact same question. I go on to tell them that I shave my head to raise awareness for childhood cancer and that I raise money along with several other people who participate in St. Baldrick's. I explain that they can too by shaving or simply just donating. I believe that if we work hard we can save hundreds, maybe thousands, of young kids lives and give them opportunities that they never would have had because we believed. You can save lives. A dollar is a difference because without that, we might be a dollar short. It's not the size of the donation that matters. It's the willingness to donate. To help those that you do not know. No matter the race, the religion, the culture, you can help everyone. We can help all those who have dreams that cancer prevents, that have goals that cancer denies completion of, that have hopes of happiness that cancer throws in the garbage. We need to take a stand and say no to cancer. We need to bring back those dreams, those goals, and the hopes of happiness and a life free of cancer with no disease to hold them back. -Daniel Mankes
