I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

So many of you know why I try to do this every year, and many don’t. There was a woman in my life who I often called my “real mom” who battled like the animal she was until the very end. That was the first year I shaved my head, when she was diagnosed. I would visit her in the hospital and she would brag to nurses, and we would rub our bald, fuzzy, noggins together. I could say so, so, so much more, and all that knew her know that as well. But I continue this to make her proud, and I am proud to honor her memory. I am also doing this, this year, in honor of a new friend, who does not wish to be named at this time, but it is still in my heart for her to know that this is also for her. To know she is loved and supported. To all those who are fighting, stay strong. And to those we have lost, your memory lives on in all of us. I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive.
