This Friday I am donating my hair for a wig for a child with cancer and then I am shaving my head with JacksPack for St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.
I am doing this in memory of Jack Klien. I never had the chance to know Jack. However his sister Allie is our babysitter, and I go to school with his cousin Lila and our baseball coach, coached Jack's team when he was diagnosed. Even during this time when in-person events are being cancelled, my family has been inspired by how our neighborhood, school and baseball league come together to raise awareness and money.
Last year I decided 2020 would be the year, because my hair would also be long enough for a wig… and I am sticking to it. I have been growing my hair out for 2 years to make this donation. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together. AND if I raise more than $1,000 my mom is also going to donate her hair for a wig.
You can still donate until September 18th.
Thank you! Harrison
