I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head on May 23, 2020. Can you believe this May, 2 years ago, was my last haircut! Yep, my hair has been untouched since May 12, 2018. Not because I wanted to grow my hair super long, but because I just never found the time to get to the salon as caring for my son with leukemia was more pressing! As his hair was falling out, mine was growing out of control. It’s been 2-years and it’s time to let it go! Not only am I doing this to honor my son, but for all the brave warrior families that have been touched by any form of cancer and those we have lost too soon! YOU MEAN MUCH MORE TO ME THAN MY HAIR! I chose May 23rd to honor my late father-in-law’s birthday (John Sperandeo), who sadly passed 8 years ago due to renal cell cancer.

My hair will be donated to an organization for children with hair-loss in honor and loving memory of Felix, Saylor’s school buddy, who sadly lost his fight with pediatric cancer. Felix would have been 10-years old this month.

I thank you in advance with your help for this St. Baldrick's shave to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
