When you walk into the pediatric cancer clinic for the first time, it takes your breath away. You're hoping for the best and fearing the worst, and when you hear those words "your child has cancer," your world is never the same. The clinic is filled with kids of all ages from babies to young adults, families from every race, people with different socio-economic backgrounds, different educational backgrounds, different hobbies and jobs and lives. But in that clinic, we are all one, fighting together to save our children.
I have seen first hand the effects pediatric cancer can have on a family. I am so happy and proud to say that my daughter is in remission from Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. I hope that her fight is behind her, but even if it is, so many others are still down in the trenches. I fight for Annabelle, for the babies still fighting, those that have conquered the demons, those that have been lost along the way, and perhaps most importantly, the ones that are still to come. Because if we can fund raise, research, treat, and cure, there wouldn't have to be any more.
I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
