Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide. I never would have dreamt how Cancer would impact my family. We lost my sister, Julie, to cancer after her diagnosis at age 29. She was selfless, with superhero-strength humor. My sister Jamie has undergone treatment for cancer. As a school professional, I have experienced the loss of students who are very dear. My incredible Motor City Irish Dance family has performed at St. Balderick's to promote fundraising for several years.
This year, our MCID group is dancing and fundraising in honor of one of our family members, Collin J., who has been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 8. Collin and his family have experienced the difficult path of diagnosis and current treatments when he is well enough to receive. This is why we do...... We stand with Collin and his family, as we fund research to find a cure so no child or family has to experience this.
Passion should become action. I'm volunteering and fundraising with St. Balderick's for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatment for kids. Of cancer research, childhood cancer is extremely under acknowledged, representing less than 5% of funds employed. With your help, we can raise funds in effort to fulfill more birthday wishes! It is difficult for me to ask for help but there is power in numbers! Will you make even a small donation?
