I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Cole's Crew

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Cole's Crew

Why am I shaving my head? First, to dare it to grow back. Second, because Kim and I feel so blessed to be able to say that our son, Cole, has been in remission from T-cell ALL for 7 years and completed chemotherapy almost 4 years ago! At only 8 years old Cole is a cancer survivor and we have medical research to thank for that. T-cell ALL, an aggressive form of leukemia, had a survival rate of only 20% in 1980 but through advances in treatment the survival rate in recent studies is approaching 90%. Everyday in the United States 43 new children are diagnosed with cancer. Every child deserves a chance at life and research helps save lives. Unfortunately, pediatric cancer research is very underfunded as most federal funding goes to adult cancer research. Donations made through St Baldrick's go to Children's Oncology Group (COG) the world's largest organization devoted exclusively to pediatric cancer research. There are 200 COG hospitals worldwide and we are thankful Cole received his treatment at one of them. Please help us raise money for pediatric cancer research so that the 14,000 children who will be diagnosed with cancer this year have a better chance of being cancer survivors like our Cole. Thank you.
