I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald and the Beautiful

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald and the Beautiful

Evan and I are shaving our heads again with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive - that's 20%!!!! I refuse to accept this reality, and so should you.

These kids are some of the bravest, strongest people you will ever meet. For kids who survive, the battle is not over. A recent study shows that because of the treatments they had as kids, by the time they’re 45, more than 95% of survivors will have a chronic health problem and 80% will have severe or life-threatening conditions.

Last year Evan fell into that category, but once again, he is doing fine today. My son, Evan, is my hero. Every day I am reminded of his strength and willingness to fight. Nothing comes easy for him or other survivors. He reminds me daily of the ongoing need to eradicate childhood cancer and the long term struggles for those fortunate to 'survive'.

If everyone I know skipped one day of eating out or one fancy coffee drink, we could make a difference together and honor Evan in doing so. Thank you and my God bless each of you!
