I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team journey

For those that do not know my family's story, my niece, Journey Bembenek, was diagnosed with Rhabdoid Tumor of the Liver in October of 2009, a form of cancer so rare that there is less than 40 documented cases as of January 2013. Journey spent most of next few months in Milwaukee at The Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, accompanied by my sister Stefanie and brother in law Chad. During that time, Journey went through numerous tests, surgeries and Chemotherapy sessions in an attempt to defeat this disease that she carried. In April of 2010, Journey lost her battle with cancer, but her memory and her fight lives on. In her 17 months, Journey did more to fight than many people have done in their life, and she did it all while having a smile on her face. It is because of Journey and her battle that I am shaving my head for the St. Baldrick's Foundation make it more interesting, I have not cut my hair since the last St Baldricks event and I do not plan to do so until the event date. I understand that getting a hair cut is a small role, but I hope you see this gesture for what it is, a chance to raise money for the greater cause. Please take the time to make a donation and help other kids that are going through a similar battle that Journey has. Every bit helps, and together we can fight childhood cancer.
