I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bay Village Bald Squad

I am beyond excited to be shaving my head for the third year! Over the past two years, I have raised over $2,000! I am so incredibly grateful for all the support I have received. My first year doing this, I was the only girl in my school who did it. Then last year, we had 3 other girls shave their heads! Having my head shaved last year probably meant more to me than anything I’ve done, and might ever do. My first year, I didn't have a specific person who I was doing it to support. But last year was different. I had an amazing science teacher, who meant (and still means) a lot to me. She's super supportive, nice, and one of the most genuine people you will meet. But while I was in her class, she got diagnosed with cancer. I was so surprised by this because she was so healthy and so young. But I knew she was strong, and that she could beat it, and so far she's done that. One of the reasons I especially wanted to do it last year was because she was going to be coming back around the time of St. Baldricks, and I wanted to support her. I thought it might be nice if she wasn't the only bald girl in the school. Unfortunately, not all cancer stories have happy endings. My past music teacher, who instilled in me my love of music, passed away this summer. She battled a rare type of cancer for a long time but is in a better place. I will always miss her, but I know she’s at peace now. I want to show my support for all those suffering and that have suffered. So for the third year, I'm asking that you donate just a dollar. With just one dollar from anyone who reads this, we can help find a cure. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a wonderful day!
