In 2000, near the time of St. Baldrick’s founding, I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) at the age of ten. After three and a half years I was lucky enough to enter remission, but it would not have been possible without the support of medical professionals, family, friends, and even total strangers who went out of their way to make an impact. Now 20 years later I am asking this same group, as well as colleagues, to help continue the fight against pediatric cancer to better the outcomes for current and future generations.
On March 11, I will be shaving my head (voluntarily this time) and am requesting donations to help fund the St. Baldrick’s foundation in their monumental efforts to cure pediatric cancer. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has generated 282MM in research grant funding to help find cures for childhood cancer. Even with all the good that has been done since the organization's founding, it is apparent that more work needs to be completed. The fact remains that every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. Together we can change these statistics.
So with that, I humbly request your support for this cause with a monetary donation of any value or even a simple share to friends and colleagues for their consideration. Every little bit we can collect can collectively help change the prospects for thousands of children and support the ongoing mission of St. Baldrick’s.
