In January of 2001 I was diagnosed with a germ cell brain tumor. I was only eleven-years-old at the time and was so fortunate to have the support of my family and the northern Nevada community throughout my journey. As is the case with all childhood cancer patients, my diagnosis and treatment placed a huge financial burden on my family. Fortunately, my family received amazing assistance from the Angel Kiss Foundation, which eventually merged with the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation.
Now, almost twenty years later, I am fortunate to be a member of the Board of Directors for the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation and I have the opportunity to help families like mine. That is why I am so excited to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded and the research is critical to ensure that every child who is diagnosed with cancer becomes a survivor. I sincerely appreciate any level of support you can provide as we work together to support this important research! Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
