Would you believe this is my 14th year with St. Baldrick’s. Just throwing it out there, I’ll be shaving again in 2021!!!
14 years ago I was this girl who didn’t know a soul and went and shaved my head and raised almost $3,000 in memory of my beautiful cousin Kristy Lyn Haley. Kristy was diagnosed with melanoma when she was 18 and she lost her fight when she was 21. She’s the reason I do this. She is the reason I will never give up. Please take the time to read her story below.
Losing Kristy was of course life changing for me. I changed from the exact moment she died. I picked up where she left off. I know what losing her did to me, and I saw what it did to my family. Kristy’s biggest fear was that she was going to be forgotten. I promised to never let it happen. Kristy has been gone for 19 years, but her memory lives on. Day after day, and year after year, her life is celebrated. And it will keep going.
Along the way, I became part of this Northport St. Baldrick’s family. Together, we’ve welcomed a few kids and grandkids, seen boyfriends turn to fiancés, had members move away and sadly we’ve been faced with losing a couple of our own. But through it all, we have still remained a strong family, and always a well oiled machine. This is exactly where I’m supposed to be. With this amazing group of people.
For those that don’t know, I am a 3x shavee. Yessss I rock a bald head like nobodys business. And i love it. I have raised almost $30,000 for children’s cancer research. I am so proud of this. I can honestly say I found my passion with St. Baldrick's. This is my bread and butter. This is what I am supposed to be doing.
I am so so so thankful for you, my support through the years. I’ve gotten donations from friends, family, friends families, strangers, companies, and everyone in between. It’s because of you and your generosity that have not only helped me get to where I am, but have helped to one day find a cure so that these innocent kids and babies don’t have to suffer.
I know times are tough for everyone. But please, if you can, help. Every dollar counts.
Please share my page.
Please do it for the kids.
Help me keep Kristy’s memory alive.
Look out 2021 will be here before I know it!!
Going Bald Is Fun, In 2021!!!!
Thanks as always from my family to yours.
We will find a cure one day thanks to people like you!
I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Here’s my 2016 shave.
