I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: St. Baldrick ‘s drAGOns

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: St. Baldrick ‘s drAGOns

This is my fifth year organizing an event and shaving my head for St. Baldrick’s. Although it seems like I have less and less hair to cut every year, I do not have any less enthusiasm for this cause. My cousin Matthew is the inspiration and impetus behind my family’s work with St. Baldrick’s. Hearing about his osteosarcoma diagnosis and watching him undergo a year of chemotherapy and having his right leg amputated at the knee really puts life in perspective. Thankfully Matthew has been at NED – no evidence of disease – for over three years! However, a number of Matthew’s friends have succumbed to this terrible disease, as have several amazing children from this area, including Dorian, Madeline, Luke and Marik.

There is nothing I can do for those children and their families now other than pray, but there is something that we all can do for the 300,000 children worldwide that will be diagnosed with cancer this year, which is one child every two minutes. We can raise money for childhood cancer research! Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Thank you!
