I have decided to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
I never realized until I was diagnosed how having cancer alters your life. Many of the treatments extend or save your life which is great. However, having cancer as a child or teen is life altering. I have spent many days in the day hospital and in the hospital. Some kids will live and others will die. Some kids will return to dance, soccer, play practice and others may not be able to becuase of the toxicities that the drugs cause. I always wonder when I see or meet other cancer kids, what will their lives be like after treatment. Then I wonder about my life after treatment.
Having new childhood cancer treatments with better outcomes and less risks would make having childhood cancer easier to deal with, less life altering and hopefully increase the chances of survival for kids diagnosed in the future.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
