Jackson and Tyler first met Brennan while as schoolmates at Somersfield Academy in Bermuda. Back then, they were three little kids without a care in the world—kids who loved building with LEGOS, super heroes and long days splashing on Bermuda's pink sand beaches.
But that all changed when Brennan was diagnosed with High Risk B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 3. Soon after he was diagnosed, Brennan was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital for treatment in 2016 where his battle with cancer began, a battle that our brave friend won last year when he rung the bells as cancer free.
Like the Marvel characters he grew up adoring, Brennan quickly became Jackson and Tyler's very own Super Hero and a beloved Bermuda brother to two little boys who still enjoy building with colorful bricks and sharing precious vacation moments with their dear friend in Jackson Hole, Legoland, Nantucket and beyond.
So to celebrate their friends' bravery, and to help other kids who've been afflicted with cancer, Jackson and Tyler will be shaving their heads on March 15 to raise money for childhood cancer research. After all, childhood cancer research is woefully underfunded—only 4 percent of national cancer funding goes to all childhood cancers—plus, the statistics are staggering:
Worldwide every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer.
More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease.
And 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive.
So how can you help fight childhood cancer? Make a donation to St. Baldrick's where 100% of your money is devoted to childhood cancer research. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers, so any amount is appreciated.
Jackson and Tyler thank you. And kids like Brennan will forever be grateful for your generosity. Let's crush childhood cancer together and celebrate the real-life Super Heroes who are thriving because of people like you.
