Friends, Family and Colleagues,
I am writing to you because Cancer has put a dark cloud over many of us the past years, and has unfortunately touched us at some point in our lives. As you all know my grandmother had just passed a few weeks ago from her 3rd bout with cancer, and though this is motivation to do what I can so others do not have to go through what she or my family did, this is not the reason I have been participating in the St. Baldrick's Children's Cancer research foundation fundraising event the past 7/9 years. I also got to participate with Rick Williams and Co. at Davis Drive, as some of you may remember the amount of good raised by the middle school the past few years at the same event.!
When I was growing up my cousin who was only a year and a half older than me who was as close to me as a brother contracted childhood Leukemia. It impacted our family greatly and caused many of my family members to be platelet donors as we tried to find a family member with similar blood type to help him in his fight .. He is currently cancer free and working in Clinical trials research.
When I moved to Raleigh, his brother and I, as well as a few friends wanted to participate in something good, and we found St. Baldrick's. Which is one of the best foundations other than St. Jude's to participate in.
I am raising money again in a fight for children to not have Cancer darken their days.. Any donation to this cause is more than appreciated ..!! And please forward this on to those you know that may want to also help me in this effort.
