I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
My brother's third-grade teacher, Mr. Schmidt's, daughter, Maggie, was diagnosed with a rare kind of cancer and lost her battle on June 1, 2017, she was 17 years old.
Cody Byrnes was the neighbor of the woman who used to watch my brother and me while my mom was at work. Cody taught me how to play soccer, how to throw a ball, how to fly a remote control helicopter, and used to bring his dogs over so that I could play with them. Cody fought two different kinds of cancer and sadly passed away in December of 2014, he was 21 years old. I miss him so much. I wish that I could've at least played one more soccer game with him.
My mom's friend from work lost her Goddaughter, Meghan Roach, to childhood cancer. I never met her but I know my mom's friend, and it makes me feel sad knowing that she's so devastated. Meghan sadly lost her battle in September of 2018, she was 27 years old.
I am shaving my head in memory of Maggie Schmidt, Cody Byrnes, and Meghan Roach because I believe that we can find a cure.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
