Today was absolutely awful.  I woke up with a migraine.  The kids wouldn't stop screaming the entire morning until we dropped them off at school.  Traffic was a mess and my boss won't get off of my back. Could things be any worse?  

We all know the answer to that question, especially since we are reading this on a webpage dedicated to the eradication of childhood cancer.  Some may say that it is unfortunate that we HAVE to deal with these situations.  I would say that we are lucky enough that we GET to deal with these situations.  Far too many of us never get the opportunity to progress in life enough to experience life, for all that it has to truly offer.  

My wife and I are blessed to have two spirited little girls.  Their future is still up to whatever choices they make for their own lives.  

I weep for parents who have had to witness the loss of a child for any reason.  To watch such hope and anticipation for a wide open future be extinguished so early is heartache that should never happen.  

So, if there is anything to learn in this brief statement, it's this: enjoy every throb of that headache.  Sing along to your kids' morning harmonies.  Crank the radio and enjoy the free time that traffic jam gave you.  Lighten up the work day with a well placed joke.  

And above all, help your neighbor.
