I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For the Cure!

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For the Cure!

Micheal Lombardo will shave his head if we raise an additional $1000 for the cause! Donate today to help make it happen!! I've answered the call to stand up and fight for children with childhood cancers! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and to raise money to find cures. This cause is very important to me. Despite the fact that I have never personally lost anyone to childhood cancers, I lost my Grandmother in 2010 to breast cancer. She was the sweetest person I ever knew, and she fought til the very end. Despite her struggles, even in her final days, she still valued the lives of others before herself. She was the person who inspired me to be who I am today, and she continues to inspire me to go even further to help others and care about other people. She has inspired me to stand up and fight, to stand with those young people who are fighting as hard as she was and let them know they are not alone. Hair is not the most important thing in life, though it is valued in society as a sign of femininity. I will stand with those who don't have the choice of how much hair they have on their heads, and fight to find a cure.

I found out more recently that another very important person in my life is fighting breast cancer, and it motivated me to continue to move forward to try to stop the problem at the source. I want to be a part of the solution. I strive to be as great as my Grandmother, inspiring others to stand with me and fight for a cure. I am fighting for the young people who deserve to live their lives to their full potential. God has really been tugging on my heart lately, and showed me that this is what He wants for me in this moment. This is the fight He wants me fighting. I will stand strong, face the adversity that comes with it, and allow the Lord to be my refuge and strength down this path He is leading me. I am confident that though this will be a challenging experience, my Lord will be with me every step of the way.

Please stand with me and support the cause through the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. They are the future, so please stand with me and support their cause. You can get involved by donating, volunteering the day of the event, or shaving your head. We are all called to serve in a different way, and I hope that if this is something He is putting on your heart to be a part of, you will follow His lead.
