I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
A few years ago I was sitting in the waiting room at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters waiting to go in to one of my MRI follow-ups. I saw this girl talking and playing with my little sisters; She had to be around seven or eight. He eyes were going in every direction, not focusing on one particular thing. It was evident that she was blind. She mentioned having an astrocytoma, similar to mine I'm guessing, on the occipital nerve. Except she was blind and I have prefect vision. I'm doing this for the children that don't have it as lucky as I did. And for all my old friends in the infusion center. And many more. They deserve more research on their behalf.
