I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Oaklawn Baldies

You heard it right - We are shaving our heads in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! The event is being held at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital.

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on our behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. For those of you who do not know, this is a subject close to my heart. I have been working at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital for the past 12 years, with children battling cancer. I see first hand the effects cancer has on both the children and their families. Aileen and I have been friends for the past 24 years, and she has decided to join me in the effort to raise $8,000. For Aileen, a mother of four, the decision was easy. The stories I have shared with her bring upon feelings of sadness, awareness, and an overwhelming feeling of appreciation of her four healthy children.
