I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

FOR MY ANGEL, RAYLEY ROSE. Born on May 23, 2006. Died on June 9, 2007.

I am shaving my head for the 5th time with the 46 Mommas Shave For the Brave. I have been a Momma since the team's inception in 2010. My child is gone, so why do I continue to raise money for pediatric research? The most important reason is simple... I promised my daughter as she was dying in my arms. I promised to keep fighting for our friends. I promised to make her death worth something. I promised.

Why is my goal $2606? The day of the shave (July 27th) will mark the 2,606th day without my Rayley Rose. I marvel at that number. Other numbers: 7 years. ~372 weeks. Over 62,000 hours. 3.7 million minutes. More than 225 million seconds. No parent should ever have to face these numbers. Even with great advances in pediatric cancer care, it is not enough. It will never be enough as long as any child succumbs to this disease.

Please consider a donation. It has been a very long road. I have been blessed with very generous friends and family. I know that people are donation weary. Everyone wants money for something. My hope, if you have reached this page, is that funding life saving research for pediatric cancer is also very important to you. It means the world to me...
