I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: McMullan's Irish Pub

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: McMullan's Irish Pub

I haven't personally lost anyone to a childhood cancer, but I have lost several adults. Maybe if the research had been there for children, we could have saved the adults, too. There's really no downside to donating to childhood cancer research - best case scenario you help the old and young, worst case you help only the young. Either way, you're helping someone and that someone may be everything to another person.

I  hope to be able to raise over $1500 in donations to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation and their research of childhood cancers. It seems a little crazy to ask for so much just to shave my head but, let's be honest. This about much more than my hair. This is about initiating endless conversations and placing less importance on hair and more importance on just being well. By shaving my head, I'm showing the world that it's OK to be bald which will allow people to have involuntarily lost their hair to stress a little less about "fitting in" and focus a little more on being well.
It's hard to find anyone today who hasn't been affected by cancer in some way. If we can help stop another person from experiencing that pain and uncertainty, I can't think of a single reason we shouldn't.
If you're able to donate in any way, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you're able to join me in shaving my head, you're a freaking rock star.
