I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I know that cancer has touched many of you personally. I recently found out that someone close to me has been diagnosed with cancer. I have donated and done a few breast cancer events in the past and now that it is closer to home I think it is time to start doing more.
Now many of you who know me know that I shave my head already. When I found out about this event I quit shaving. It is back to a stubble and hopefully by the event date it will be long enough to be noticeable.
But wait there is more. I have not shaved my mustache since graduating from the police academy in 1985. Then after 12 years I was in a motorcycle accident that forced my early retirement. The day I retired I quit shaving my beard. Since that fateful day back in 1997 I have had some sort of beard or goatee. My two daughters have never really seen me with a clean shaven face except for pictures.
So although may hair will not be that long at the time of this event I would like to shave my entire face, eyebrows excluded. I would like to see all my Facebook and Instagram friends donate. Even if it is only a dollar. If everyone were to donate a dollar I could raise a descent amount of money. So come on friends dig deep and pull out some $$$$.
