I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I did it again!

In honor of my daughter Annika reaching the 5-year CANCER FREE mark on May 20, 2014, I once again joined the 46 Mommas and shaved my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!  The 2014 46 Mommas' event was held in Boston, MA on July 27th. It was an amazing honor to be a part of the 46 Mommas' Campaign again. The Mommas represent the mothers of the approximately 46 kids diagnosed with cancer each week day in the US.

In honor of Annika's 5-year milestone and the 5th annual 46 Mommas shave, I'm celebrating  by hosting a bake-free sale!

There is nothing to bake, wrap, or eat so... it is completely calorie free and totally stress free! Select your donation amount by choosing from the virtual items below. Then click the donate button above to "purchase" your items. "Cupcake" - $3 each or $36/dozen"Cookie" - $1 each or $12/dozen"Brownie" - $1.50 each or $18/dozen"Bread" - $2.00 per slice or $10/loaf"Scone" - $2.50 each or $30/dozenReminder: All items are virtual - there is no real food! Just a fun way to fundraise and celebrate Annika being CANCER FREE!

Annika is a survivor of an uncommon, and aggressive cancer, Burkitt's Lymphoma. I am deeply, undeniably, and forever grateful for this outcome! However, childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death in kids under 15. Childhood cancer occurs regularly, randomly and spares no ethnic group, socioeconomic class, or geographic region. In the United States, the incidence of cancer among adolescents and young adults is increasing at a greater rate than any other age group, except those over 65 years. And, sadly, childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. It is not possible for me to look away from these facts or hope that someone else will take a stand. So I have decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Thank you!!
