I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head and why should you donate?

This is my 11th year as a Shavee. I started all those years ago because my cousin Angie died from a childhood cancer in 1998. She was almost 21 years old. When I became aware of St. Baldrick’s and how necessary it is to have funding and research for childhood cancers that is different from other cancer research, I started my annual participation.

But this year, I am also honoring my Aunt Diane, Angie’s mom. After going through my cousin’s childhood cancer and passing so many years ago, Aunt D is now going through cancer treatment herself. I am planning to stay with my Aunt and Uncle to help with recovery and rehabilitation this spring. So I won’t be able to attend the event in person. I will still raise funds and post before and after pictures.

Please join my efforts. Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
