I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

02-21-10 NEWS FLASH! - OMG! My husband is now shaving his head too! Read below and you'll see why this IS a news flash. 02-15-10: I am throwing vanity out the window and I need your help to give me the courage! I have the honor of working for the event host, Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation (NNCCF), as the Executive Director. If you are familiar with NNCCF you know that it was created in September, 2009, when Keaton Raphael Memorial (Reno Office) and Angel Kiss Foundation merged. So this is my head shaving story.... Lizzie Dalton, KRM's Executive Director, and I began talking about a possible merger of our two organizations. It was February at the time and Lizzie was busy organizing their annual St. Baldrick's event. I remarked that if our organizations merged I would shave my head at the 2010 event. And as the story goes...we did merge and I kept the commitment made with Lizzie that day as we walked down the halls of our local hospital. This is not an easy task and one my husband is not so pleased with. I have met many (too many) brave (and adorably bald) children with cancer over the last two year. I am shaving my head in honor of the 236 children our Foundation has helped, but I need your donations. I don't want our Foundation to help another 236 children. Research can change that. Please donate to my future baldness and help find a cure to childhood cancer. To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone. Thank you for your support!
