Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s?
I’ve wanted to participate for over a decade but there was always something stopping me... Mostly, I was not in the country at the right time (having lived overseas until a few years ago), then the pandemic hit, but St. Baldrick's was always something I still wanted to do.
Like many, I have lost loved ones to cancer, have seen friends and family go through the traumatic effects of it (both as those who have also lost people to it and as survivors who went through it themselves) and I have also seen countless stories of babies and children battling cancer which has, of course, always been heartbreaking but now, as a first time mum, it hits home even more! I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child to cancer.
On a more light-hearted note and from a visual impact standpoint, my hair just so happens to currently be by far the longest it's been in 15 years! So I'm hoping that will encourage pbeople to donate and come to the event/watch online to see it all get shaved off!
I hope my contribution, however great or small, can help this important cause and I hope I can maybe inspire someone else to brave the shave next year ?

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you!
