I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Six years ago I shaved to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer.  At the bottom of this new message, you can read my message from six years ago as to why I did it.  This time I’m doing it because Cancer has personally struck me, and more importantly, it has struck my 3 year old nephew, Ari, who is now engaged in chemotherapy for probably the next 2 to 3 years as he bravely fights to overcome Cancer.  He’s starting to lose his hair, so I think he should have some company.  Six years ago, with the help and generosity of family and friends, and friends of friends (honestly, people that didn’t know me but donated because of a friend), we raised $14,000, and I’m hoping that we can raise even more this time.  And, you get to see me totally bald, including no beard and mustache - that’s surely worth a good laugh???  So, as I did six years ago, I’m asking for your financial support again (make a donation), and equally important, I need you to put the arm on some of your good friends, and ask them to donate too.  Just send them to the St Baldrick’s website and put in my name.  THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING ME, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THANK YOU FOR FIGHTING CHILDHOOD CANCER.  Be well, jeff

Last Fall I happened to see a young girl that was bald and I assumed that she was fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.  It got me thinking about how fortunate my entire family has been and I wondered if that little girl had a family like mine.  My extended family is pretty fair sized but more important than size, we're very close.  I know that if anyone in the family were facing such a challenge, tons of family would be there with support - no question.  So that's why I'm shaving my head - to be there for all those kids that don't have a family like mine and don't have the support that they need to survive the challenge of their life.

So please join me in simply being there for someone in need.  And here's the pitch:  I need your help in two ways.  First, obviously I want you to make a financial donation and help me meet my fundraising goal.  Thank you for doing that.  Second, tell some of your friends about what I'm doing and ask them to join you in supporting me in the fight against childhood cancer.  Don't send out a blast email - your friends will hate you - but rather, pick 5 or 10 close friends that you know will listen to you and personally ask them to help.  Thank you again for doing that.

Wait for March 18th and see what I look like once I've been shaved - head/beard/mustache/I'm keeping my eyebrows!!!  It's for a good cause and I sincerely appreciate your help.  be well, jeff
