Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I have previously participated twice in the St. Baldrick’s event and they were both amazing experiences. Just seeing the number of men, women, and children who turned out to be a shaver, a shavee, or just to show support for a friend was inspiring.
In the spring of 2016 my wife and I welcomed a beautiful healthy baby girl into our lives and it’s been an adventure ever since. Every night when I walk into her nursery to say goodnight, I think of how thankful and blessed we are. I also think of all of those children and parents out there who aren’t as fortunate as we are. The children who spend a majority of their childhood making countless trips back and forth to doctor’s appointments and cancer treatments instead of playing outside. The parents who have lost a child and have been robbed of the joys of watching them grow up into young men and women.
A few years ago, I had a conversation with a lady who lived down the street from me when I was a child. Her son, Jeremy, passed away at age 13 from brain cancer. She told me that the only time he cried throughout all of the surgeries and horrible treatments was when his hair fell out and that if St. Baldrick’s had been around back then it would have made coping with the hair loss a lot easier for him. If the simple act of shaving my head can make even the smallest difference in the life of a child like Jeremy, then it’s worth doing.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
