I have always loved my long hair. It's been cut short a few times, but I always let it grow back out again. Parting with my hair has simply been a challenge for me, so I rarely do it. However hard it is for me though, I cannot imagine how difficult it is for a person who has been diagnosed with cancer. You see, I have a choice. Nobody has had to tell me, "you're going to start losing your hair as we treat this disease."
I want to stand with those who lose their hair to save their lives. On March 9th, I'm getting a hair cut, one of my least favorite activities, but I can't be happier about the reasons why. I'm going to donate at least eight inches to Children with Hair Loss, while also fundraising for St. Baldrick's.
Childhood cancers are different than those that affect adults, and research for the former does not get anywhere near as much funding as it should. I want to help scientists find cures to the diseases that affect children. I want to raise money so no child has to lose their hair, their childhood, their life, to cancer.
And this is something I can't do without your help. Please, I ask you to donate whatever you can. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Thank you sincerely.
