I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Although it may seem blasé, I believe the polite thing to do when asking for charitable donations is to begin by providing my name. Hi, I’m Eleni, and this year I will be shaving my head and donating to advocate for the continuation of childhood cancer research. While I do not have personal experience with the emotional hardship that accompanies the occurrence of cancer, I think it matters to try to do what we can. I picked five kids to honor because their stories touched me and their struggles should mean something. It may not feel like a small donation will change much, but the culmination of everyone's efforts will help immensely. This is why I am taking part in St. Baldricks day and hope you will too.

Life is a maze with no clear destination and an infinite number of twists, turns, and pitfalls. Some things cannot be prevented, and the aphoristic statement “watch your step,” does not always protect us from harm. Bad things happen to careful people. However, it is imperative that we face life's inevitable adversities with tenacity and courage, which is why this year I have decided to support the Saint Baldrick’s Foundation.

I would appreciate any and all contributions that you are willing to give, as it really does positively impact the fight against childhood cancer.
