I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Shenanigans Squad

Some people have asked me why I work to support St Baldrick's every year. I do this for several reasons. I do this because I have seen what cancer can do to people. Because I have, first hand, seen children walking in the halls of a cancer center with their parents pushing their chemo IV poles and thought how hard that must be for parents to make these decisions for their child. Because I remember years ago when my neighbor told me his year old baby had just passed away from leukemia. Because I recently sat and talked with a man who, many years ago, had lost his child to cancer, and watched him tear up after all these years at the memory.

I was introduced to St Baldrick's when I became a member of the charity committee for an organization I belong to, that has since evolved into my being the organizer for the event, but I don't do it alone. Every year there are very special people who put their hearts into assisting to make this event happen and every year men and woman who sign up to shave their heads and fundraise to support this cause. Others will keep their hair but work hard to fundraise. Fundraising is the most important part because the St Baldrick's Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of research grants for childhood cancer. I want to be a part of this, I want more research to save lives. I hope you do too. Please support me with a donation. Thank you!
