Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
As some of you may already know, for the past few years I have volunteered as a shaver for the St. Baldrick's Event. I look forward to this event every year.
It is a very important cause to me and one that almost hit our very own home, with our Dylan, but thankfully we received a favorable diagnosis. Others are, were, and will not be as fortunate as us. This will be my 5th year getting shaved and I will continue to be a shaver as well. In the 4 years I have participated we have set an awesome record together of $17,161!!!
The event is scheduled for Friday March 22nd. For those that would LOVE to see the hair and the beard come off but can not be there I will do a Facebook Live video so you can watch as it happens.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
