I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! I am no stranger to the head-shaving solidarity move. When my dad got a brain tumor, he had to have his head shaved for his many surgeries. The radiation also made his hair fall out, so I shaved my head to match his. I'm planning on shaving my head again in solidarity with children with cancer, but this time, I'm hoping to raise a little money for the cause, too.
I am getting into this a little later than some other people, so I will make this a little more interesting by trying out some NPR fundraising strategies. I will match the first $250 donated to me. If I get a total of at least $500, I will throw in another $250, bringing my total to $1000. So you can double the effect of your money by donating now!
