I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Total raised over all years: $12121

Average amount raised each year: $865

Average amount raised each year after 2014: $1136

For the 14th year I am raising money to help support research of children’s cancer. Personally cancer has had a huge impact on my life as both my parents lost their battles against cancer. I have seen first hand how horrible this disease can be and I can think of nothing worse than seeing a child have to face that battle so early in life. One of the most horrifying statistics about childhood cancer vs adult cancer is the average years of life lost. A child who is diagnosed with cancer loses an average of 71 years of their life. Many of these children will never get the chance to have the experiences that most of us take for granted. Even after successful treatment 2/3 of childhood cancer survivors face a secondary condition (i.e. heart damage, lung damage, etc)
