Cancer is a nasty thing. Cancer in a child is even more devastating. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes. 1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not survive. More children are lost every year to cancer than to any other disease! And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Childhood cancers combined only receive 4% of government funding for cancer research! So I decided to do something about it by joining the St. Baldrick's Foundation and raising money for cures. On March 20th, I'm shaving my head to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research!
St. Baldrick's is a non-profit public charity. Since 2000, St. Baldrick's has raised over $118 million for life-saving childhood cancer research by shaving over 195,000 heads! By shaving my head, I'm not only raising money for life-saving research, but I'm also showing my solidarity and compassion for those children going through chemotherapy.
This is where I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Even if you can't make a donation, can you spread this on to others? Every little bit helps.
