I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. A friend of mine and one of my teammates, Matthew B., has been a shavee for the past few years. Seeing him participate in this event, has really made me want to get involved. When I asked my parents if I could participate, they were a little surprised since I am volunteering to shave my head! I told them, "it's only hair" and "it will grow back." I know there are several children who have no choice in the matter, and who lose their hair while fighting a battle with cancer. Some people think I am making a big sacrifice in shaving my head.
